PLANTING PROJECTS

"Planting Projects are my specialty. Seeing a desolate landscape come alive by putting trees in the ground is such a rewarding job. I use compost as an inoculum and it keeps competing plants away so that seedlings have a good start to life. I can design projects to suit your needs and the more challenging the site or purpose, the better!" Brett Tunstall, Senior Forester - World of Trees

Planting Projects

Since white settlement of Australia, approximately 50 million hectares of forests have been cleared for agriculture and other development. Australia is founded on it's forestry industry and to this day we use timber in many aspects of our current lives.

The Granite Belt and Southern Downs is looked at as a supply region of quality timber, plantation timber, and firewood for Sydney, Armidale, Brisbane and other large cities devoid of timber.

Landholders can increase their asset base by planting sustainably harvestable woodlots and shelterbelts. These have additional benefits to the landholders of stock protection, increasing biodiversity, water harvesting, windbreaks, erosion control and building soil health. Woodlots and shelter belts can grow themselves into an asset with a little amount of work after their establishment period.

High value species which grow well in this region is ironbark, red gum, Australian teak, red cedar, blue gum and yellow box.

World of Trees can not only help you with native Australian hardwood species, but also exotic timber species, food forestry, orchards, ground cover crops, arboreta and specimen tree, and also vineyard plantings.
